Whoops

I haven't updated in so long that my computer forgot to remember my password for me, so I had to wrack my brains so I could post some gibberish. You're welcome.

Gibberish Point the First: I am having a hellish few days and it's all my fault. If you remember, last year I took microbiology and chemistry (and some more stuff) and got so stressed that I got IBS and it took me a year to feel better. I got Incompletes in my classes which meant I could take a year to finish my classes--and to finish them I need to take three finals. Which I procrastinated on for nearly a year. I have eleven days to take them and finish my education class and still work during which I am taking over teaching computers. I was busy for twelve hours straight today.

Gibberish Point the Second: dude, THANKSGIVING HAPPENED! I spent it with Nick and his family at their cabin in the snow! It was awesome! We ate a lot and played games and drank mai tais and discovered we don't like Bloody Mary's and totally didn't shop on Black Friday.

Gibberish Point the Third: I am super serious about this working out and losing weight thing. So super serious that I totally worked out for 45 minutes and then made cookies. BOO-YEAH!

Gibberish Point the Fourth: We finished watching all the available seasons of Psych and really want the next season to come out on netflix so we can stare mindlessly at the TV some more!

Gibberish Point the Fifth: My Nanny is moving here from Florida! She gets here soon. We're very happy she is going to be living near us!

Okay. I'm gonna go zone out in front of X-Files (my boyfriend is a geek) for the rest of the night so I can study my butt off tomorrow for my lab exam and portfolio tomorrow. Ugh.

Craving . . .

. . . the biggest, baddest, most Denny's-esque brunch. You know the type. Eggs and cheese, bacon, hash browns, more bacon, more hash browns, some syrup and ketchup for dipping . . . and refillable hot chocolate with whipped cream.

I dream of this because I can't have it anymore. Even now having two scrambled eggs and some toast for breakfast make me too full! I haven't had chocolate in ages, and haven't craved it until I was just thinking of a huge breakfast and what to drink with it. I haven't had dessert or candy in ages either. I didn't even have pie at Thanksgiving! For dessert then I had sweet potato casserole with pecans, and it was delicious.

This morning I weighed 137. Recall my starting weight was 153. I have lost 16 pounds.

I bought size 6 American Eagle Boyfriend pants, and now they're feeling a bit baggy. Crap.

Home At Last

We left Valencia at nine this morning and arrived home at six-thirty in the evening. We are all pooped. We made a quick stop at five for Quentin's indoor soccer game (they won by 24-3! Quentin made two of the goals! And then he played goalie and stopped a goal!) and a few other bathroom breaks, and I am so glad to be out of the car, you have no idea. Also, vans are uncomfortable to sleep in.

I spent over 200 dollars on clothes in Santa Monica, and will post pictures soon! I've already done two fashion shows for my family.

Thanksgving 2009

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. I hope everybody else did too. My family (Quentin included) and his friend Louis from San Francisco (originally France) and our two dogs drove down to Valencia to have Thanksgiving at my aunt's house. Unfortunately two of the families that are usually here were seeing their significant other's families this year, but they will be showing up today.

We had all the normal foods, but it was sooooo good. Mmm. Turkey and mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole with pecans and green bean casserole (with imitation sour cream for yours truly!) and rolls and deelicious gravy. Our family actually eats special occasion "dinners" at about one o'clock. (And then leftovers for dinner, mmm.)

I sat at the "kids" table with Troy, Quentin, and Louis. Troy and I chatted in Pig Latin whenever the boys broke out too much French.

Then the fun started! We played Guitar Hero for a loong time. The French boys had never played it before, but they got good pretty quickly. I kept trying to earn the song "Suck My Kiss" by Red-Hot Chili Peppers. I love that song. (Nick and I played Guitar Hero for ages when we first started dating (and before) and that was the one song I could almost sometimes beat him in.

After Quentin got tired of playing, we went outside and played an impromptu and no-rules game of basketball. There was a lot of arm grabbing to stop people from scoring. It was the Symington's vs. the French Boys. We played a game of HORSE and then another basketball game. (Hey! Guess what! I can actually shoot pretty well! I can't dribble or steal worth crap but I can shoot! Mwahahaha.)

After we were all exhausted we went back inside and played more Guitar Hero. Okay, it was more like the French boys played Guitar Hero and Katie did homework while listening and occasionally played. AND! AND! We finally earned Suck My Kiss! I was so excited!

And then Quentin and I went back outside and played more basketball in the dark. This was the most exercise I think I have gotten in, like, years. Which is sad.

Anyhoo, it was a very fun day. My stomach didn't bother me that much once we started to have fun, but it wasn't great in the morning. And now I need to get up and clean off the couch (my make-shift bed) so we can go to Magic Mountain. Woo!

Traveling to Thanksgiving

A few things I have realized today, from packing this morning and driving eight hours to LA:

1) My kittens new favorite toy is whatever clothing item I am trying to pack.

2) I don't like traveling. My stomach/IBS doesn't like driving eight hours. I had split pea soup for lunch and omg, hello freaking heartburn and upset stomach. Also a bit of anxiety from a change in routine.

3) I need to go to the library, I had no books to read. I snoozed most of the way.

4) My kitten chewed my laptop's charge cord. It no longer charges. Oops.

5) I drink way too much water and suffer from Tiny Bladder.

6) You actually CAN fit six people (my parents, brother, myself, Quentin, and his French friend Louis) plus two dogs and luggage into one van. I would not, however, recommend it.

ThanksgivingSmushyChristmasTree

Since I have been remiss in my posting duties and also am lazy and tired, I hereby present the smushed version of my "Thanksgiving AKA Stuffing Yourself Until You Explode" post and the "Great Search for the Perfect Christmas Tree!"

Thanksgiving was great but very quiet, I kept thinking that we had the date wrong or something since none of my relatives were up! Missed you guys! It was just my family and Nick eating a huge amount of food. I ended up making a sweet potato casserole, and, like my boss suggested, putting in about 2 cooked banana per 4 sweet potato, and then whipping and covering with brown sugar and butter and sticking it in the oven for half an hour. Delicious!

All of us (except Dad, he was watching the game) then walked around the circle and fought the dogs every step of the way. (We will soon be buying one of those poky collars for Sage).

Then Nick and I drove off to his grandma's house for ANOTHER Thanksgiving feast! And I do mean feast--there was enough food for about 20 people and there were only 10 there, but it was soooo amazing! Nick and I and Clair played pool and first Nick won and then I won. Then we all exploded, the end.

This morning I woke up dark and early and drove to Nick's to go search for a Christmas tree for his family, and we all hiked for TWO HOURS up hills and down. I fell on my bottom once and slid halfway down a hill on my slippery boots, but Nick kept catching me! So sweet.

I took probably a gazillion photos with his dad's expensive camera, and hopefully will be able to post some of them soon!

Finally we found the perfect tree, after about 200 had already been examined and pronounced faulty for being too small or too short or too fat... it was hilarious! Nick's dad hefted it and we walked back down, and then bought delicious fudge and adorable Christmas ornaments! It was a lot of fun, but I am exhausted now. (May also be partly caused by the beginnings of a cold and a lack of wanting to do math and spanish homework).

So probably next weekend my family and Nick will go to a different tree farm and buy one for our house, even though we are going to LA for Christmas! Wish us luck and sturdy legs, for we shall need it.
